Boys and Girls Soccer teams win against tough opponents

The soccer teams each took home one win last week, with the girls putting up a 2-0 shutout against Damascus on Wednesday the 27th, and the boys bringing home a comeback victory against Magruder on Thursday the 28th.

The girls’ win came on the back of goals by seniors Breanna Salovich and Morgen Smith. Their defense made it tough on the Hornets’ offense all night and freshman goalie Renari Frazier put up multiple saves, keeping Damascus from making a comeback.

The boys’ rain-soaked game against Magruder concluded in a 3-1 victory for the Falcons, with junior Nico Martinez tying the game early in the second half and then extending their lead to two minutes after they took the lead on a Colonels own-goal. While both teams also dropped a game this week, their victories set them up for a shift as the season transitions into the second half.
