PHS Presents Idiom Day

PHS Presents Idiom Day

On March 4, 2026 Poolesville High School had its first Idiom day where students, teachers, and staff members were invited to dress up as their favorite idiom.

This idea was brought forth by Mrs. Kathy Clowe, and she worked together with Ms. Lisa Marshall in order to make it happen.

Prior to Idiom day, a short 5-10 minute lesson was taught in students English classes in order to help students gain a deeper understanding of the English language. The lesson explained the meaning of an idiom, and their importance in expression.

Students and staff members were invited to dress up as one of many ideas, or they could create their own. A costume could be as simple or as extravagant as one wished. Everyone was encouraged to participate, intending to bring a sense of community to PHS.
