Q: What were you up to this past summer?
A: Over the summer, I had internships with Democracy Summer and Mobilize Green! Plus, I just hung out with friends
Q: How’s sophomore year going so far?
A: Sophomore year is messy and a big adjustment so far, but it be like that.
Q: I know you’re very politically involved; can you tell us what some of your greatest interests are?
A: I was advocating for further development in creating more green facilities in MoCo! With the Climate Action Plan (CAP) being in place, it’s important to encourage more action so we can actually reach our goals!
Q: You recently testified in front of the board of education; can you tell us a little bit about what you were advocating for?
A: I got pretty interested in the environment just from doing summer camp as a kid, but being in Global Ecology definitely increased that by a lot. I usually learn more just from attending meetings [of] the countless environmental [organizations] in MoCo, working with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and from researching things to advocate for!
Q: What do you hope to have done (academically or in the advocacy realm) by the time you graduate?
A: I really hope to get more people involved and help keep the momentum [going] even after I leave! After all, it’s not about me; it’s about protecting our planet.
