On Thursday Feb. 21, Poolesville Indoor Track competed at the Maryland 2A State Indoor Track & Field Championships against 46 other schools. Many members of the team had great performances, with some even breaking their best all-time personal records.

The Girls 4x800m relay came in 7th overall: Addison Kain, Anna McCrae, Ruby Mercer, and Leela Desai’s performance was their season’s best, with a time of 10:33.55. The Girls team had many other amazing performances, with McCrae coming in at 13th and Kylie Zhang in 17th in the Girls 1600m, Mercer at 15th and Zhang at 17th (with a PR) in the Girls 3200m, and Teagan Bandholz placing 4th overall in Girls’ Shot Put.


The Boys team also performed well. Alex Daniels came in at 7th for the Boys 800m. For the Boys 1600m, both Connor Kohne and Keaton Trouteaud had their season’s best performances, coming in at 10th and 12th place, respectively. Kohne came in 7th, and Garrett Simons placed at 9th with his PR in the Boys 3200m.
The indoor track season ended with the state championship, and outdoor track began on Mar. 1.
