Poolesville Day took place this past Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm, bringing a parade, food vendors, exhibits, and entertainment.
Parade – The Poolesville Day Parade, a recurring event for the past 30 years, includes the featuring of dancers, live music, horses, floats, and our Poms and Cheer teams. Both Senate candidates, Angela Alsobrooks and Larry Hogan, took part in the procession, along with Congressional candidate April McClain-Delaney. The parade started at 10 am at Poolesville Elementary and ended at the intersection of Fisher Avenue and Route 109.
Food Vendors – As far as dining options at the Whalen Commons, Poolesville Day featured vendors including Sweet Rollers handmade cinnamon rolls and baked goods, Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Trippy Tacos, and El Cumpa Chilean Food Truck.
Exhibitors/Vendors – Poolesville Day 2024 was home to 162 vendors and exhibitors this year. Small businesses and foundations were also present, ranging from Emily’s House of Clay clayworks for sale to the Girl Scouts of Poolesville booth recruiting fall troops and handing out crayons.
Entertainment – Poolesville Day also featured various performances and shows. These took place at the Main Stage at the Whalen Commons, the Local’s Stage, and Falcon Lane in front of the Dollar General. A lineup of jazz, country, soul, bluegrass, hip hop, Zumba, and more awaited festival goers from 11 am to 3:30 pm. Jumptown Band, a group specialized in R&B, blue, and soul, also performed. Visiting from Loudoun County, Virginia they carry a 1960s-inspired flair with them. The PHS Poms and Cheer performance was also accompanied by a welcome statement from the Town Commissioners from 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm. Aside from musical entertainment, the Drive Electric electric vehicle show took place at the Jamison Parking Lot. Attendees were able to experience test drives and learn more about these mobiles at the Big Tent Talks from 12 to 2. The 5K Run-Walk also started at 8:00 am.
