Senior Matthew Griffith dodges Northwest defense.

Poolesville Boys Basketball has been on a roll recently, with the team coming off of their 5th win in a row against the Rockville Rams. Senior Matthew Griffith led the team with 26 points and a career-high six 3-pointers. This career-best game isn’t a surprise to any Falcons basketball fan as he’s been lighting it up consistently in this five-game win streak. Senior Dylan LeMarr also played well with multiple big-time highlight reel caliber blocks against the Rams. LeMarr was key in the victory against Paint Branch, leading the team with a double-double 18 points, and 11 rebounds. Additionally, after four years, Senior Jaylen Riggs hit his first career 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer against the Rams.

Poolesville Girls Basketball has also put up a formidable season, boasting a very solid 7-5 record. Junior Lizzie Kovacs has been an offensive machine, leading the team with 9.3 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Breakout star freshman Leila Reid also led the team, putting up a solid 8.7 points per game. Both Poolesville Basketball teams are looking like they could end the season strong and make a solid push in the playoffs this year.
